About First Aid Cornwall

As an approved First Aid Training Provider, we offer a wide range of Training Courses for Individuals, Businesses and Schools as well as specialist Training Courses for Activity Leaders. We also tailor our Training Courses to suit individual requirements.

Our regular Training Courses take place at our centre in Truro. Our instructors can also visit you and your team at your place of work or another a location suitable for your selected Training Course. Our in-house Training Courses are designed for small groups and can be reshaped to suit your requirements.

Our Instructors

At First Aid Cornwall, we deliver more than just instruction. Our professional Instructors and Assessors are all approved First Aid Instructors (FAIs)  who are expertly trained via WorkSafe Training Systems, Nuco & the First Aid Industry Body. With an unrivalled, professional and relaxed service, your Instructor will do more than simply get you through a course.

All our Instructors believe that First Aid is a life-skill and that teaching it should be about more than simply getting people through their course. With experience in Fire-Fighting and Coast-Guarding, for us, it’s a vocation, not just a job. Our philosophy of lifelong learning means Instructors undergo regular, comprehensive training and Continual Professional Development.

Richard Crowther, First Aid Cornwall Lead Instructor

LEAD INSTRUCTOR

Richard Crowther has been involved in First Aid for over ten years. Following five years of military service with the Royal Engineers as a Team Medic, Richard developed his teaching and firmly believes that everyone can benefit from acquiring basic First Aid Training.

Richard’s calm and relaxed approach to life transfers into the classroom and creates a warm, friendly and comfortable learning environment breaking down some of our fears surrounding first aid.

With a growing young family, Richard likes to spend his free time exploring the beautiful Cornish coastline and always jumps at the chance to go for a surf!

James Collier, First Aid Cornwall Instructor

James Collier

INSTRUCTOR

James  Collier has over 30 years of First Aid experience and over 25 years’ experience as a firefighter.  James became an instructor in 2007, encouraging others to learn by sharing his experiences and helping to develop skills in those that attend his courses.

Learners will benefit from  James’s experience and be encouraged by his enthusiasm to teach.

Now working solely as an instructor, James loves to spend time with his family in Cornwall’s beautiful countryside and seas.

Josh Parkin - First Aid Instructor in Cornwall

Josh Parkin

INSTRUCTOR

Josh’s background in first aid comes from working for nearly a decade as a Beach Lifeguard, dealing with various injuries and incidents.

Josh strengthened his first aid skills working at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in the role of a carer.

Josh has had lots of first hand experiences, treating a range of injuries and illnesses.

Josh discovered teaching people the correct actions to take in an emergency scenario and giving them the confidence to deal with a potentially life threatening situation is extremely rewarding.

Learners will benefit greatly from Josh’s endless enthusiasm and relaxed teaching style.
