Frequently Asked Questions
Terms + Conditions

Which first aid course is best for us?

This depends on you as an individual and the people you hope to help through First Aid Training. If you are a healthcare professional, for example, the Annual First Aid Refresher Training ½ Day will maintain your skills and confidence. Parents, carers and anyone working with children would benefit from our Paediatric and Schools options, whilst designated First Aiders would be interested in our Workplace courses.

If you are unsure which is the best solution for you, please get in touch.

Can you come to us?

Yes, of course. If your training is connected to the needs of a particular work or activity space then it makes sense for us to come to you. Simply choose one of our courses and get in touch to discuss any specific requirements. We insist on a minimum of 4 participants, making this is a particularly good option for team building and training.

Do you offer bespoke training?

We love bespoke training! It’s vital that your First Aid Training addresses the particular needs of your environment and range of activities and there’s nothing we like better than the challenge of putting together a course that will empower you.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of candidates per course?

We need a minimum of 4 participants to run a course. Our standard course maximum is 12 participants, however we are flexible to your requirements and can comfortably accommodate 20 candidates in our spacious facility. If your team exceeds 12 members we will provide 2 instructors so that each participant receives ample 1:1 attention.

What do i need to wear for the first aid courses?

You don’t need any special equipment or clothing but we recommend you wear comfortable clothes that are suitable for sitting and kneeling on the floor.

I am unable to kneel on the floor, can i still attend?

Yes. You should be aware that our Truro centre is on the first floor, however we are able to translate any floor-based activities to table-tops.

Do your courses comply with UK Resuscitation Council guidance?

Yes. You can find out more about what this compliance means here.

Why choose First Aid Cornwall and not Red Cross training or St John Ambulance?

The Red Cross and St John Ambulance are excellent providers. First Aid Cornwall’s emphasis is on local experience, passion and flexibility. We are small enough and experienced enough to tailor our courses to your needs in the context of Cornwall.

Are the trainers CRB/DBS checked?

Yes. Find out more about what this means here.
